With an unwavering vision from our founder, Robin Lewis, Providence has always had a clear mission and a stable foundation of core values. We are grounded in simple truths inspired by the Word of God.

We believe that there is great value in engaging with a community that is centered around a common goal. At Providence, we desire to come alongside like-hearted parents who share our core values, to help shepherd their children to be the salt and light of the world.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Providence Christian School of Texas is to provide academically able students with a challenging educational experience designed to help them know, love, and practice that which is true, good, and excellent and to prepare them to live purposefully and intelligently in the service of God and man.

STRATEGIC PLAN

VISION: PROVIDENCE 2030

Every few years, the Board of Trustees of Providence Christian School of Texas engages in a year-long process of assessing the current state of the School and exploring the present and future needs of the institution and the community it serves. Incorporating feedback from alumni, current Providence families, faculty, and staff, the resulting Strategic Plan is a visionary document that informs the goals, priorities, and direction of the School for years to come.

By Providence Christian School’s fortieth anniversary, our vision is to embody the finest expression of classical Christian education in Texas through:

The formalized continuous assessment and enhancement of our character development, curriculum, and extracurriculars.
The cultivation and retention of outstanding faculty steeped in classical Christian education and Providence’s pedagogy.
The robust recruitment and admission of families that align with our faith and Core Values.
The extension of school offerings to more fully express the School’s mission.

Our Crest

CREST

Our crest, which was initially hand-drawn by one of our founding Board Members, Bonnie Thompson, is rich with meaning.

THE SHAPE

The shape represents the shield of faith as found in Ephesians 6:16 “in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming missiles of the evil one.”

THE CROSS

The crest is divided into four quadrants by a cross which represents our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the life He gives us.

THE FOUR QUADRANTS

THE WHEAT

The first quadrant represents Christ as the bread of life. Our very existence depends on Jesus Christ; He is our sustenance. In John 6:35, Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me shall not hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”

THE HELMET

The second quadrant represents evangelism. In Ephesians 6:17-19, we are told to “take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. With all prayer and petition pray at all times with the spirit…make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.”

THE BIBLE

The third quadrant represents wisdom, truth, and knowledge. In Proverbs 3:13 we are told, “How blessed is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding.”

THE DOVE

The fourth quadrant symbolizes the Holy Spirit. We are dependent upon the Holy Spirit to instruct us in knowledge, wisdom, and righteous living. It is through the Holy Spirit that we may learn. In John 14:16-17, we are assured of God’s provision for us when Jesus tells His disciples, “He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of Truth.”

Providence recognizes the primary responsibility of the family, under the leadership of the father, in educating children, and is committed to fostering a supportive community of like-minded families.

INTELLECT

Providence is committed to helping intellectually promising, academically able students fulfill their God-given potential by means of time-tested and classical instructional methods and curricula and by encouraging the development of good habits.

VIRTUE

Providence is committed to promoting the innocence of childhood while also preparing its older students for their further education in a world increasingly hostile to Christian faith and virtue.

STEWARDSHIP

Providence is committed to faithfully stewarding the time, talents, and treasure entrusted to it, and to fostering the faithful stewardship of its students and their families.

Our Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that the Scriptures are the very Word of God in their entirety and, therefore, are our authority in matters of faith and practice.
We believe in one God, creator of the universe, eternally existing in the persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God created man in His own image, and that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God.
We believe that when man disobeyed God, he fell from grace and brought sin into the world.
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, crucified for our sin, and raised from the dead in eternal victory. He is undiminished deity and genuine humanity in one person.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a personal Being who convicts the world of sin and who regenerates, indwells, empowers, guides, and seals believers eternally for God.
We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary for the salvation of lost sinners, and that those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again into the family of God.
We believe that the family of God is the church, which is the body of believers of which Christ is the head.
We believe that marriage, the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union as delineated in Scripture, is designed to be a living reflection of Christ’s love for and union with His people. Thus, we believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other.
We believe that in line with the character of God expressed in His love for His creation and pursuit of His people, every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity.
We believe that Heaven is the abode of God and the place of eternal joy for the saved, and that Hell is the place of eternal punishment of separation from God for the lost.
