Providence History

Robin Lewis, whose God-given vision for education of children led to the founding of Providence Christian School in 1989, directed Providence through its first dozen years and the establishment of a permanent school home on West Lovers Lane in Dallas. Her devoted work for Providence has blessed many hundreds of children and their families and will bless untold numbers in the years to come.

1989 Providence Christian School of Texas opened with seventeen students in rented facilities from Northwest Bible Church.


1991 The School moved to the Greenville campus with 183 students. From 1996 to 1998, Providence was located at the Greenville campus and Shearith Israel with 370 students.

1999 The School purchased its permanent location on West Lovers Lane in Dallas.

2005 Dr. Tony Jeffrey joined Providence as Headmaster.

2010 The School completed a 12 million dollar fundraising campaign and built a new Enrichment wing, library, gymnasium, and academic facility.

2012 The total enrollment at Providence grew to over 440 students.
